A former school just outside the village of Dwingeloo has made a place for peace and comfort. In the middle of a landscape surrounded by two National Parks and many cultural treasures, Het Buitenlokaal invites to multi-day relaxation.

The Buitenlokaal is a place where past and present meet. The former elementary school was transformed in 2023 and 2024 into a sustainable place with three vacation apartments, together good for 16 sleeping places.

In the middle of the green

The school is located in the middle of the green and has a fantastic outdoor area where you can enjoy and relax as a vacation guest. Find a nice spot outside, under the tree in the hammock or somewhere in the field. In the garden you can use the Fikki outdoor oven, a fire bowl and a 16-seater picnic table.

Relax vacation

Treat yourself to an extra pampering moment during your stay at this special vacation home and rent our hottub. Whether summer or winter, this is optimal relaxation in the warm water in the fresh outdoor air.

Nature paradise for children

For children this vacation spot is a small nature paradise. We have our own forest where children can play for hours. There is also a trampoline and plenty of space to play around.

The former teachers’ room at the front of the school is a 4-person vacation home (+ possibly 2 babies) with panoramic views over the countryside. With a lovely living space and bathroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs.

Holiday Apartment 2

The former principal’s room on the side of the school is a luxury vacation apartment overlooking the forest. This 6-person vacation home (+ possibly 2 babies) has one bedroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs. The vacation apartment has two bathrooms.

Holiday apartment 3

The former gymnasium at the back of the school is a luxury vacation apartment for 6 people (+ possibly 1 baby). With a large living space, two bedrooms with private bathrooms downstairs and two extra sleeping places on the mezzanine.

Group accommodation in Dwingeloo
